Arriving by Train

There is a frequent train service to London (Liverpool Street and Kings Cross). The fastest service takes 52 minutes.

Eurostar passengers arrive at St. Pancras terminus in London. From St. Pancras it is a short walk to Kings Cross rail terminus, from where the trains to Cambridge leave. For train times see National Rail Enquiries.

The train station is situated on the South of Cambridge City Centre.

Arriving by Long Distance Bus

All national and regional bus services terminate in the City Centre, at Parkside. You can visit the National Express website for routes and timetables for long distance services.

Arriving by Plane

Of the London airports the most convenient is Stansted since it is only 25 miles along the M11 from Cambridge. Buses and trains can be taken from the airport to Cambridge. There is an hourly direct train service to Cambridge which takes approximately 40 minutes. There is more than one bus service between Cambridge and Stansted Airport - for details see the National Express website.

The bus is the cheapest and simplest option from Heathrow Airport: there is an hourly bus direct to Cambridge. Timetables and information will be available at the airport, or check the National Express website. The journey takes just over two hours (in good traffic) and arrives at Parkside. You can also travel by train from London King's Cross station to Cambridge (journey times 50 to 90 minutes). To get to London King's Cross either take the London Underground Piccadilly line, or take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and change to the London Underground Circle or Hammersmith & City lines. Trains leave London King's Cross every half an hour for Cambridge between 6 a.m. and midnight. For train times see National Rail Enquiries.

The best way to get from London Gatwick airport to Cambridge is to take the train. There is a frequent service from Gatwick to St. Pancras station, which is adjacent to King's Cross station, where you can catch a train to Cambridge.

Luton airport is not convenient for travel to Cambridge, but if your flight does arrive at Luton the best route to Cambridge is by bus or taxi.
